What exactly is politics?

Think of it like this. It’s the ultimate game of power, played not on a field, but in speeches, deals, and headlines. And in this game, as you said, you can’t rely on mercy. Yesterday’s friend can become today’s rival in a second. Why? Because the goal is often to win, not just to be right.

Writer George Orwell warned us about this. He said political language is often used to hide the truth, to make terrible things sound normal. It’s less about honest debate and more about who controls the story.

So, is there any humanity left in it? Shouldn’t politics be about making life better for everyone?
